Mortgage Deed is also known as a legal charge form and a legally binding document. Your solicitor may help you sign your deed in their office if you are using a local solicitor however when remortgaging, this is often posted to you to sign and post back.
You and anyone on the mortgage will need to sign where indicated on the form as well as having both of your signatures witnessed. The witness must be over 18 and must not be living in the property or be related to you. Each signature can be witnessed by the same person.
You are always advised to not date the mortgage deed as your solicitor will do this once they have completed your remortgage.
Once signed and witnessed you will then need to post this back to your solicitor, ideally recorded delivery due to the nature of the document.
We can help you sign your mortgage deed so please do not hesitate to pop into our office with your form.
