Many people are swaying more to a Shared Ownership property but what are they. Shared Ownership is where you share the ownership of the property that you purchase. You will generally own around 25% to 75% of the property and the remaining part will be owned by a housing association. You will then be charged an agreed rent for the portion that you do not own. This is often at a lower amount compared to those who rent privately with landlords.
Although Shared Ownership is aimed at First Time Buyers, you do not need to be one to purchase a shared ownership property. You can overtime increase the amount of the property that you own via a process known as Staircasing with the aim to eventually own 100% of the property.
We can help you obtain a Shared Ownership Mortgage that suits you and discuss the benefits and any possible disadvantages of shared ownership with you.
