
A right to buy property purchase is one where you purchase your council property at a discounted price. However what happens if you wish to sell the property?
You are free to sell the property at any point however if you sell within 5 years of the date of completion, then you will need to re-pay a portion of the discount you received. This discount does reduce with each year e.g. the full discount is due tiwhtin the first year 80% in the second, 60% in the third, until you reach the fifth year.
After 5 years from your completion day, you are then able to sell the property without needing to repay any discount.
